DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
1.World Environment Day celebration in association with Bhoomithra Sena Club of Srtee Sankara College supported by KSCSTE on 21.06.2019 on the focal theme 'Beat air Pollution'. Programmes organized were intercollegiate Quiz and Poster competiotions and an invited talk by Dr. Shaju Thomas, Rtd. Associate Professor & Environmentalist.

3. Campus cleaning in association with WWS of Sree Sankara college on 27.09.2019
4. II Dc Zoology students celebrated Christmas at Snehasadan on 20.12.2019
5. Organized Two Day seminar on 'Teaching Science Amidst Calamities' on 31.12.2019 & 01.01.2020. Invited speakers on 31.12.2019 were Dr. T. V. Sajeev, Principal Scientist and Environmentalist, KFRI, Thrissur and Dr. Abhilash S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Atmospheric Science, CUSAT. Intercollegiate PPT & Poster Presentation competitions were conducted on 01.01.2020.

7. Demonstrated experiments to selected plus one students in the ‘SASTRTHRAPADHAM – 2020’ programme organized by Samagra Siksha Keralam, Kerala Higher Secondary Education Department and Sree Sankara College, Kalady on 19.01.2020
8. Hosted the ZOOFEST 2020 in association with Zoological Society of Kerala on 30.01.2020. Students from eight colleges participated in the ZOOFEST 2020. Department of Zoology , Sree Sankara College became the overall champion.
9. Orientation programme for Zoology students on the topic 'Preparing for a better future: New Perspectives in Education and Career' by Mr. Amal T. Anup, H R Manager, Capilano University, Vancouver, Canada on 01.02.2020
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
1. Student participated in intercollegiate poster making competition and seminar on ‘Air Pollution’ organized by Dept. of Zoology of Morning Star Home Science College, Angamali on 13. 06.2019..
2. Paticipated in State Level Seminar and intercollegiate painting competition on the focal theme ‘Green Earth- Clean Air’ in connection with ‘World Environment Day organized by Department of Zoology, Bharat Mata College, Thrikkakara on supported by KSCSTE on 15.06.2019
3. Students participated in the intercollegiate Quiz and Poster competitions in the World Environment Day celebration organized by Department of Zoology in association with Bhoomithrasena Club of Sree Sankara College supported by KSCSTE on 21.06.2019.
4. II DC Zoology students participated in interdepartmental football tournament conducted by Physical education department of Sree Sankara on 4th, 5th & 8th of July 2019 and entered in the Semifinal.
5. II DC Zoology students became runners up in interdepartmental cricket tournament conducted by Physical education department of Sree Sankara on 25.07.2019.
6. Students of I, II & III years participated and won I, II & III in the Quiz competition organized jointly by Science Club, IQAC and Library on the 4th Death anniversary programme to commemorate Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on 26.07. 2019.
7. Attended the invited talk by Prof. Indulekha K., School of Pure and Applied Physics, M G University, Kottayam on Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam as part of the 4th Death anniversary programme on 29.07.2019 in the college seminar hall.
8. Participated and won prizes in collage and debate competitions organized by Science Club to commemorate Hiroshima Day on 06.08.2019. Jismy Poulose of II DC Zoology got second in collage and Maria Baby of III DC got third in debate.
9. All students of Zoology participated in campus cleaning in association with WWS on 27.09.2019.
10. II DC Zoology students visited and celebrated Christmas at Snehasadan, Mattoor on 20.12.2019.
11. Students participated and won prizes in the Quiz competition conducted by Red Ribbon Club of Sree Sankara College on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on 01.10.2019
12. Jeesa Benny of III DC secured First in the Regional Level Quiz competition on HIV/AIDS organized by KSACS at IMA Hall Ernakulam on 20.11.2019 and selected to participate in the State Level competition.
13. Jismy Poulose and Shallat of II DC secured second in intercollegiate powere point presentation competition on ‘Smart policies for an eco-smart city’ organized by IQAC of St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva on 16.12.2019.
14. Students attended and presented paper in the two day seminar on ‘Teaching Science Amidst Calamities’ on 31.12.2019 & 01.01.2020 organized by Zoology Department of Sree Sankara College.
15. Students participated and won prizes in the PPT and Poster competitions organized by Red Ribbon Club of Sree Sankara College on 03.01.2020.
16. Three II DC students participated in the National Workshop on Foldscope Microscopy organized by Dept. of Zoology of St. Xavier’s College, Aluva funded by Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi on 07.01.2020.
17. Students participated and won second prize in the PPT competition on ‘Common Monsoon Diseases in Kerala’ organized by Science Club of Sree Sankara College.
18. Students participated and won prizes in the various competitions in the ZOOFEST 2020.
19. Three III DC students participated in the ‘Bring Back Green National Climate Change Conference – 2020’ held in association with IGBC CUSAT CHAPTER at CUSAT on 17 &18.01.2020

23. Students of III DC won first prize in Quiz competition organized by NCC of Sree Sankara College (22 Kerala Battalion NCC Eloor) on 26.02.2020.
24. Three II DC students presented paper in ‘Compass’ The State Level Monthly Colloquium of Research Presentations held on 27 & 28.01.2020 at Sree Sankara College on the topic ‘Smarter and Greener Kochi’ organized by Renaissance, Multidisciplinary Centre for Research, Extension and Learning, Sree Sankara College.
25. I DC students secured first in Quiz competition conducted by Zoology Association of St. Peter’s College, Kolenchery (Sargothsavam 2020) on 05.03.2020
26. II DC students secured first in PPT competition on ‘Impact of Forest Fires on the Ecosystem’ conducted by Zoology Association of St. Peter’s College, Kolenchery (Sargothsavam 2020) on 05.03.2020
27. I & II DC students participated and secured second in Poster Making competition conducted by Zoology Association of St. Peter’s College, Kolenchery (Sargothsavam 2020) on 05.03.2020
28. Students participated and won prizes in Collage competition on ‘Women in Science’ organized by Science Club on 28.02.2020.
