One Day National Workshop on “Innovative Research Methodology”



The Department of Economics, Sree Sankara college Kalady , in collaboration with Kerala Higher Education organized a One Day National workshop on “ Innovative Research Methodology “ sponsored by SMART Scheme IQAC Sree Sankara College , Kalady  on Wednesday 22nd  February 2023. The workshop was intended to disseminate knowledge relating to the methods and methodology in Social Sciences research for UG, PG and Ph.D scholars.The inaugural function was held on the fore noon of 22nd February 2023. Dr Hari Kurup K K, Former HOD, Department of Economics, Government college, Kasagod inaugurated the function. Dr Preethi Nair, Principal, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, presided over the function. The IQAC member Smt Gopika G, Assistant Professor from Department of Commerce, offered felicitations for the programme. Dr P Geetha, Associate Professor, HOD of Economics made the welcome address and Dr Anumol K A, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, proposed the vote of thanks. The main objective of the workshop is to provide orientation to the students to proceed with their research in a scientific and systematic way.The first technical session was handled by Dr Hari Kurup K K, Former HOD, Department of Economics, Government College, Kasagod, on the topic “Getting started with the Research process” He provided an overall idea about research process starting from selecting the research question, to research design, to data analysis and report writing.The next session was by Mr Emmanuel Thomas, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, St Thomas College, Thrissur who spoke on the topic “Major Steps in Social Science Research”.To conclude the research methodology workshop for UG, PG and Ph.D students in Economics turned out to be a rich experience for the participants, raising their confidence to proceed with scientific research and produce quality output. Seventy Eight participants had actively participated in the workshop. Feedback was collected from the participants.please click for report
