All branches in the knowledge systems of Bharath are very much enrooted in the regional languages through which they originated and developed. Mother Tongue is the most elegant, efficient and best medium to deliver, develop and establish knowledge both ancient and modern. Many trials are live to make regional languages accessible for all needs. Adi Sankara’s digvijaya is an eminent example of the integration of cultures, languages etc. He has crossed all geographic and cultural barriers with his philosophical insights transacted through Sanskrit, which has an inherent integration with all languages. Second session started following a tea break at 11.30. Dr. Dhanya, Asst.professor, ASTC delivered a welcome address. Dr.C.G Nandakumar delivered the keynote address on the ‘ Adi Shankaracharya’s insight on Bharatiya nationality’. Nationality is a concept which is very much interconnected with integral humanism. As a living individual has its own prana and consciousness , a nation also has its own prana and consciousness that is known as chiti. This concept is coined from the philosophy of Adisankaracharya. The chiti is a vital factor which is often experienced in specific occasions that affects all beings irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The key factor of all integration including national and linguistic is this chiti. Adi Sankaracharyar established this concept of chiti in a philosophical manner that is based on individualistic experiences. Students participated in the discussion part of each forenoon session by adding their thoughtful points and questions. Third Session started following the lunch break at 1.45 PM. Dr. Anilkumar V V, Asst.Professor, Dept.of Sanskrit, Sree Sankara College Kalady delivered the welcome address. Dr.M.V.Natesan, professor (Retd.), Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Kalady delivered the keynote address. He said that the idea of language, according to Bharath, is not merely a medium of transaction of ideas, but itself is knowledge. Language is a philosophy. Humanity, Morality and Spirituality are the foundational stones of the educational system of Bharath. Languages of Bharath convey these three fundamental values. Therefore rejuvenation of Bharathiya languages will instil values and progression in education. Knowing more Bharathiya languages will help us to realise the relation and harmony among the languages and knowledge systems of this nation. We can use the methodology of harmonising the ideas adopted by Sri Sankaracharyar for the integration of the nation. Participants have actively participated in the discussion held after the lecture.
