IPR Awareness Programme



IPR cell, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, Post Graduate and Research departments of Microbiology and Economics jointly with The Patent Office, Kolkata under Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry organised an IPR Awareness Webinar on December 22, 2023 Thursday from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. The programme was conducted in order to create IP awareness among the students and faculties.  The webinar was co-ordinated by Dr Sumi Mary George and Dr Preemy P. Thachil (IPR cell, Sree Sankara College, Kalady). The resource person of the webinar was Mr. Shailendra Singh, Group A gazetted officer, Patent office, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. Basic concept of IP and IPR was explained so as to create awareness that intellectual property is the product of the human intellect and can allow the owner to completely benefit from the invention. A total of 37 students and 21 faculties from our and nearby colleges participated and got the benefit of the programme. The programme came to an end by 1.00pm.
