BIOSPECTRUM 2023- Food Safety- Current Status and future needs



The Postgraduate and Research Department of Microbiology in association with Microbiology Alumni Association, Sree Sankara College, Kalady organised Biospectrum 2023an online webinar on Food Safety- Current Status and Future Needs  on 27h May 2023, Tuesday from 10.0 am to 1.00 pm. Mr. Sreejith K.M., Senior Manager-QA, Choice Canning Company(Secretary, Microbiology Alumni Association) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Preethi Nair, Principal, Sree Sankara College delivered the presidential address. Mr. John Vijayakumar, Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety, Ernakulam talked about the food habits and food safety.  Mr, Naresh Kumar, Application Support Manager, Biomerieux Industrial Microbiology Division, described in detail modern techniques in food analysis and food safety tools.  Mr. Sreejith K.M. gave a detailed account of food safety management systems.  This was followed by an interactive session coordinated by senior alumni members. Dr. S. Mohan proposed vote of thanks.  A total of 127 participants attended the webinar. The meeting came to an end by 1pm and was followed by Alumni meeting 2023.
