REPORT ALUMNI TALK ON START UP SERIES I: “HOW TO PLAN FOR START UP AND LEGAL & ETHICAL STEPS The Entrepreneurship Development Club in association with the Post Graduate & Research Department of Microbiology and Institution Innovation Council of Sree Sankara College, Kalady has organized an alumni talk on start up on 27th March 2023 at 10 am in the topic “How to plan for Start Up and Legal & Ethical Steps”. The main objective of this programme was to motivate students to translate their innovative ideas and research outcomes to market ready products, technology and services. The main attraction of this talk series is the alumni of Sree Sanakara College who share their experiences in the process of launching a startup. The inaugural session was begun with a prayer. Dr. Sumi Mary George, the associate professor in the Post Graduate and research department of Microbiology and the IPR activity coordinator of Sree Sankara College, Kalady welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Dr. Preethi Nair, Principal of Sree Sankara College. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Ajay Basil Varghese, Nodal Officer, Technology Business Incubator, Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Mr. Thajudeen Aboobaker, CEO of the strat up 'Urban Trash' and alumni of the department of Zoology.  Dr. Manju T, IQAC coordinator of Sree Sankara College has felicitated the programme. Post Graduate and Research Department of Microbiology, Sree Sankara College has developed a food waste composting microbial consortium which they wish to test on a trial basis. The Startup ‘Urban Trash’ has expressed an interest in conducting trials on the accelerator. So, an MoU was exchanged between the PG and Research department of Microbiology and ‘Urban Trash’ during the programme for collaborative research on waste management. The resource persons shared their startup experiences during their presentations. During the feedback session, students interacted with them and thanked them. Ms. Gopika G and Ms. Gowri Antherjanam from the ED club, as well as Dr. Seena Thomas and Dr. Sinitha B Nair from the IIC, have actively participated in the programme. Ms. Sowmya M R, the startup activity coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks for the programme.
