National Seminar- Microbes The Unseen , American Society for Microbiology



The American Society for Microbiology is a professional organization for scientists who study viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae, and protozoa as well as other aspects of microbiology. Established in 1899, ASM is the home for microbial scientists from around the globe to connect, learn, discover and prepare for the future. ASM and its 30,000 members partner with global organizations to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. ASM connect with millions of experts and harness their science to serve humanity. A microbiome is a community of microorganisms found living together in any given habitat. The microbiota consists of all living members forming the microbiome. Bacteria, archaea, fungi, algae, and small protists are microbiome members. Plants live in association with diverse microorganisms which play an essential role in their ecology and physiology. Considering the inevitable prominence of microbiome, American Society for Microbiology in association with the Undergraduate, Post Graduate & Research Department of Microbiology Sree Sankara College, Kalady and the Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology & Biochemistry, Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi are organising A National seminar on Microbiome-The Unseen on August 22, 23, 2023 at Sree Sankara College, Kalady. Two day seminar will consist of talks by Dr Sabu Thomas Scientist F Pathogen Biology Rajiv Gandhi Centre For Biotechnology Trivandrum, Dr Devika Pillai Professor & Head i/c, Department of Aquatic Animal Health Management Director of Research, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi, Dr Ranjith Kumavath, FRSB Associate Professor Department of Biotechnology Pondicherry Central University, Puducherry, Dr Baby Chakrapani P.S Director, Centre for Neuroscience Department of Biotechnology Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, eminent scientists from this field. Research scholars, post graduate and undergraduate students will get the opportunity to present their work in the oral and poster presentation sessions.
